Azienda Agricola Alterreno, a beating heart immersed in the green Tuscan hills

Alterreno Farm is designed and managed to offer horses, and the people who are passionate about them, a safe and modern environment, where horses and riders can live together in harmony. We are located just an hour away from Pisa and Florence!

The company extends over 30 hectares of land, most of which is dedicated to large paddocks where the horses live in small groups.

The facility has 30 boxes, 16 of which have an adjacent paddock, a 2ha grass field with various games and obstacles, a Honeycomb (4 15m rounds in a large 60m round), an 800m wood chip track and an external 20x60m all-weather arena, as well as a 20x60m covered riding arena in French sand.

The stables are modern and bright with 30 permanent boxes located in two separate structures.

Shade panels provide extra comfort and half of the stalls feature mini paddocks to give horses the opportunity to move freely and interact with each other.

The stable also has a foaling box, farrier area, stallion boxes, solarium and two showers.

There are many paddocks suitable for the various needs of horses (both for those who want to put their horse out on the pasture only during the day, and for those who prefer to let their horse live freely 24 hours a day). Horses with health problems can be accommodated, as well as horses that require special attention (stallions, etc.).

Horse riding and training facilities:

  • Covered arena with fly, sun and wind protection panels ideal for riding in warm temperatures during the summer, but also suitable when the weather gets cooler. Also has mirrors, sound system and irrigation.
  • Outdoor field for all seasons (in all weather material)
  • Equipped horse playground, complete with swing, bridge, carwash, jumping logs, platforms and much more
  • Wooden chip gallop track for those who want to ride at high speed in a controlled and safe environment
  • A honeycomb with 4 rods for outdoor training
  • Kilometers of spectacular trails that cross the Tuscan hills, ideal for rehabilitating and getting horses back into shape thanks to the undulating terrain

Alterreno has a select group of school horses that are used in lessons for both children and adults.

Natural Horsemanship is for everyone! Beginners are welcome, as are more experienced riders who want to improve their riding and their relationship with their horse.
